Currently unavailable.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing patients greater access to appointments, from 1 March 2016, Scalloway Health Centre will be offering an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) service.

The ANP will assess all patients who call for an ‘on the day’ appointment. Many minor ailments can be assessed and treated by the ANP which will allow more appointments with the GPs to deal with more complex cases.

When calling for an appointment you will be assessed by the ANP and a suitable appointment given. The ANP will have access to a GP at all times for further advice and patients can be referred on to the GP at any time.

Thank you for your co-operation with this new service.

Improvements to our Patient Escort process

As of 1st September 2017, if patients require an escort, and they are in receipt of Higher Level Disability Living Allowance (mobility or care component) or Enhanced Personal Independence payment they will automatically be entitled to an escort upon production of a current award letter when booking their travel.  This means they will no longer have to obtain autherisation from a GP or clinician.

For those that this does not apply to, but medical circumstances suggest an escort is required, the patient or their carer will need to complete a form to rquest an escort and submit this to their GP practice for consideration.  This can be completed at the surgery and handed in or filled in electronically through our website.
